Rio

At 25 years old, Rio is our elegant dun Kiger Mustang mare from the United States. And yes, she is actually the niece of the real-life horse who inspired the animated film Spirit.

She has recently retired from carrying riders, because arthritis eventually catches up with even the strongest mustang, and she has earned her rest. She has not retired from working. Rio is one of our most trusted partners in the equine wisdom journeys, the Reiki sessions, and the constellations, where what she offers has never had anything to do with being ridden.

Do not let her age fool you. She has the heart of a wild mustang and the soul of a gentle teacher.
